Camp Cockatoo Concludes

Leigha Reports In:
Whew...another what they call a firm landing performed by Spencer..the pilot of
all pilots..I am soooooo tired..I danced till I dropped last night..my talons
have blisters on them..I know RL and Miss Scarlet are bushed..they won the dance
contest..outlasted all of the others..and how sweet they looked when they
finished up with Eric Clapton's ..You look wonderful Tonight...Ahhhhh
The auction was a great success..with over 2 gazillion $$ being donated to
TGF..I know Popcorn and Mackey and Rico will see that it is distributed to all
the birdies equally..Hope our mom's don't look at their credit card bills too
closely next month..I did have to buy that quilt..probably give it to the old
girl for her birthday..I think it was well worth the 22,000 that I bid on it..
Merlin bought all of those little colored balls for a mere 16,000..(that is in
US, Merlin, by the way)
and RL was soooo generous with his bid for 4,000 for a nice bird toy..then he
redonated it ...so it could be auctioned off again...What a guy..Blew and Rayban
pitched it and bought Miss Jo a lovely
Purple mohair and suede jacket (Hey I donated that)
Hope mom doesn't read this one...and those blue cowboy boots that were donated
by one of the Canadian birds (we won't name names) were a great hit..Cowboy got
those for his mom..Did you all see the cam pictures that some little spy birdie
took..I think Aunt Connie had Kona bugged..but he won't tell..but not naming
names..I think the two lovebird toos were Annabelle and Spencer..but they keep
denying it..
Well off to get some sleep..and please, someone tell me that the big redheaded
bird in the living room, is just a hallucination that I'm having from one too
many froot juices...PLEASE TELL ME THAT!!

She sed she cudn' say ennyfing on da Too-Bill, an she hadda tell sumbuddy, so she telled us. Blew and Rayban are Home!
They came home about an hour ago...dragged their tired little selves in, dumped their bags in the middle of the living room, both climbed in their cages, took some long drinks of water and promptly tucked their heads under their wings....I didn't know it was possible for birds to snore....and talk in their sleep and giggle....I wonder what they've been up to....no word on how the rest of the gala went or who won what at the auction!!!!!
Mama Jane Reports On Her Two:
Merlin and Quinny are here and it sounds like they're in pretty much the same shape as Blew and Rayban. Quinn is now of the opinion that he'd lots rather wrestle a couple of mountain lions, than try to spend much more time keeping track of all those active little ones! He does seem a little please with himself though, for doing such a good job. Jane and the flock

Bingo’s here, too and he's one tuckered out little Goffins. He says he ate too much, but he promised that he had stayed away from the fruit juices with the preservatives. He's very responsible, you know. He did say that he has got to learn how to swim before Camp next year. I think he was very impressed with Spencer's flying abilities. - Sue B.
Lupe’s Charley Made it Home, too!
I was
taking a nap when he got home, so he unpacked, climbed up to his house & was
sleeping when I woke up! I tried to say Welcome Home and all he did was grumble
& go back to sleep! Does this mean he had a good time???

Mama Pat Bodie Reports Miss Savannah Home Safe:
Well Miss
Savannah obviously didn't bath like she should have, while at camp, thats for
sure. From eating all those 'froots of many colors' her little white bum is all
different colors. You would have thought some OLDER birds would have pointed it
out to her. So I marched her right into the bathroom before she could hop onto
her perch. Geez! What was she thinking. And theres something sticky in her back
pack that I can't identify, but it looks like it use to have legs. HHMM! she was
at that picnic. I think we should send a chaperone next year.

Cathy T Reports That Spencer, Our Pilot, Comes Home!
I can hear
the wrrrr of the jet pulling in the driveway. Wonder if we'll get our deposit
back......
When my son came home from camp last summer I had to open his backpack outside
it stank so bad. So I'm ready the worst right now.
So it was Spencer and Annabelle smooching in the sunset!! Oh no! Please don't
anyone tell Frances! Though that boy is going to have to learn to take his lumps
and mama is NOT getting involved in this fiasco.
There is he is now coming in the back door!!

I wonder if RL and Scarlet eloped. He's not home yet and Sharon hasn't said anything about Scarlet being home. I just bet they took Cowboy along as best man and went to Las Vegas. Maybe someday I'll be g'ma again. Lol Jean B
