Donna
Z:.
we are in Northern CA My husband Ron and I are the proud parents of one
really awesome blue and gold macaw named Schreech
MacGnaw. He will be 2 in September. He eats
Roudybush pellets and a variety of people food (sensibly of course), and a
small amount of nuts and/or seeds each day. Schreech loves corn just about
anyway he can get it, watermelon is a biggy with him too, potatoes just
about any way, and loves pizza crust and the pizza too of course! He loves
lots of veggies and eats fruits too, but in lesser quantities. I am
continually trying to get Schreech to eat more pellets than he does, but
seriously if I had a choice, I know what I would choose! I want him to he
healthy so try to help him make better choices for himself..but not deny
him things he really likes either (within reason, of course)!
Schreech MacGnaw loves to gnaw (could you guess?) *grin* on just about
anything he can sink his beak into. So we supply him with lots of chew
toys and switch them around and alternate them from time to time so he
keeps interested. Without a doubt his two favorite toys are his Birdyman
and his Kong. He gives them both a work out and the beauty is they are
still intact and believe me that is saying something for Mr. MacGnaw! He
likes to try and help me open the mail, loves to play on his gym that
Daddy made for him, loves to follow mama down the hall and try to get my
toes, loves peek a boo, loves to preen mama's hangnails, and just do
anything that has to do with interacting with Ron and I.
Schreech MacGnaw
has a bedtime ritual (at nine o'clock sharp it is "nite nite"
and he insists on going to bed saying nite nite and screaming it if we
don't do it quick enough to suit him. Once he is getting covered and its
lights out he's a happy camper. That's a really fair bedtime as we are up
at 4:30am. |

Jeff L:
Scoot is 16 weeks old (as of May 6, 2000) and loves to help his daddy wok on the computer. He also
likes to go for rides and shopping. His favorite thing to do though is to go to the beach with his daddy and fly kites. Scoot just got his first kite and once
he learns to fly it he will send pictures.

Wayne & Felicia: Hi! My name is
Seymour
and I am a Catalina Macaw. I have been with my Mom and Dad since May 2001
and we live in Wildwood, IL. I will be 2 yrs. old on Sept. 8, 2002. I
love kisses, playing with my mom and dad, singing with the radio, rolling
over on my back, chewing up my toys, and talking. I Love Pizza and Baked
Lays Chips! I have tried to play with Louie's tail (Green Iguana), but mom
and dad won't let me. I know over 30 words now, and I even know when to
tell Charlie (a Fancy Cockatiel) to "shut up" when he gets to loud.

never intended to have this many birds but I love them all. |

|
Grace:
Skylee
is an Illigers macaw, and she hatched around New Year's day, 1999 (breeder
is not sure exactly when). Skylee loves to say and play
"peek-a-boo", and is a very sweet natured bird. She also
says, "hello",
"breakfast", and "Ev-annn!" (when she wants attention
- my husband's name is Evan). |

|

|

| Pam: Meet Solo,
our new little Hahns Macaw, which is the most absolute sweetheart. He/she goes to anyone. Not a discriminatory feather on his little body. Anyway, if you
don't mind, he needs to go in the macaw family album. |

|
Lisa
F: My military macaw, Taylor,
was hatched on 9/12/97 and came to live with us on 5/31/98. At first
Taylor only played with my husband, because I was too afraid of her big
beak, but I eventually overcame my fear. Now Taylor and I are great
buddies! She loves to practice her repertoire of words when she
thinks no one's around to hear. Her appropriate use of language
really cracks me up. Taylor screams periodically, but she's not
really that noisy. She just likes to have fun!
Taylor enjoys eating people food and throwing her seeds, nuts and pellets
around; dancing to reggae and disco music; hanging outside in the
sunshine; showering with mommy and daddy; wrestling with her daddy; and
destroying all of her toys.
Taylor and her brother Gumbo's website
is called "The Gumbo and Taylor Show,". |

|
 |
Lisa C: This is
Tiki
- she was hatched on 9/6/01. She lives in Southern California
with me and my husband and our dog. This is our first large bird
but it has been a great experience having her.
She is full of affection - more for me than for
Dad! She's about to go on a cross-country trip
via RV to meet the rest of the human family. |

|

Hi my name is Scarlett
and I live in MO with my mom (Bernie), I was born on 5-31-96 and I bet you can't guess who the model for this statue my mom painted! Mom got me when I was down to one
hand feeding a day so I got to decorate the kitchen with all the formula that I didn't want to eat. hehe that was fun.
|

And here is my side profile, mom (Bernie) says she thinks I'm the cutest, and so do I.
I'm mom's (Bernie) biggest bappie and you know it! I was hatched on 5-31-96 and mom had to finish
handfeeding me when I was down to one feeding a day. So I got to decorate her kitchen with the formula that I didn't want to eat. hehe. That was fun!

Hi my mom (Bernie) is new to the caw chat but she wanted to show me off right away. Mom got me cause my other
owner couldn't keep me due to health problems. I love my new mom though as she takes good care of me and loves me back. I was born on 8-8-90 and was born with a crooked
beak but it hasn't held me back any, just have to go see the vet more often to get it trimmed, but mom doesn't mind taking me

Sheri N: Meet Tyler.
She is a two year old green wing macaw and the love of my life! Of my entire flock Tyler is the one most prone to get into trouble! She has a passion for
leather pocketbooks and coats. Tyler has the most outspoken personality. The whole house knows just what kind of day she is having by the noises she screams at
the top of her lungs. She is the kindest, most gentle, and incredibly loving creature I have ever known. |

|
Michelle:
I live in Eastern Pennsylvania ("the suburbs"). I am owned by a
very spoiled B/G Macaw named Shelby.
. She is 2 and eats everything
in sight. My other companion is a Green Rump Parrotlet Parrot named Keo
(key key for short). He runs the house hold yelling at all of us when we
act up. He is 9 weeks old. His buffet includes everything but he prefers
the seed mixture and sprouts. |

|

When
Tory hangs out on her "kitchen perch", she loves practicing her
"microwave beep" and her best telephone voice,
"hello". |

Tory's
favorite place to "boing" is in her Bubba's office. |
|
Beverly:
We live in Bucks County, PA. I am a Noble Macaw and my name is
Tory.
My Bird-Day is June 26, 1994 and my parents, Beverly & Byron, have
lived with me since I was 3 1/2 months old! They cater to my every whim (I
don't give them much choice).
I love to
play hide and seek and toss the ball -- but my favorite thing to do is
SHOWER! I don't care if it is in the big bathroom shower, or with a spray
bottle or in my favorite bowl -- I'm not too choosy when it comes to
getting wet.
My vet said
I'm not noted for my talking abilites but what does she know! I say
"Where's Bubba" (that's my dad), "Eeeevvvv" (that's
Bev -- my mom), night-night, hello (in a bunch of different voices),
shower, step-up, gimme a kiss, nice, and a lot of other stuff. Right now
I'm perfecting my imitation of the microwave beep (heh, heh, heh, --
that'll drive 'em crazy). I love to use Bev as my own personal jungle gym
while she sits on this 'puter thingy. If I get too bored, I've even been
known to pull a key or two off the keyboard. They don't like that very
much. |

|
Patricia:
I am owned by a B&G named Stevi
who was hatched Sept. 2,1998. Also in the house is a CAG (no name yet) No
pictures available at this time. |

 |
Glenn and
Donna:
We live East of Dallas.. We moved here two years ago from Seattle,
and plan on moving back as soon as possible.
Sidney (Severe)
is the pistol of the group. If anything is going on she has got to
be in the middle of it. She is big in character with hyper energy
and a mischievous drive that leads to full time entertainment beyond
belief. Sidney thinks she is special because at dinner she gets to
sit on my hand and eat from MY plate. Just before bedtime she requires lap
time with full massage. Hatched July 11, 1998 she
Zena
(GW) turned one April 1999. She moved in with us and
an easy life after a rough first year. She is big, but a big baby.
She supervises all cooking of breakfast and dinner from the center island
counter tops, yet she cant image why it takes so long to finish the
food preparations. If the food is good she tells ya mmm---, if
it s not she will just remove it from her cage and tosses it to the
floor (thank goodness we have 4 vacuum dogs). She loves cuddles,
kisses and floor
games and destroying anything made of wood.

 |
Valerie: I
am slave to almost two year old Blue and gold female Symon.
She is an amazing talker, even yelling "truck!" at passing
cars...her favorite words are "flap, flap, flap" and she loves
to get people to share their food by saying 'MMMM' when they walk by.
She is one of five birdies in our house, and what a joy she is! (her
brother the Umbrella 'too doesn't think so, but he's adjusting well).

Thank God for our feathered kids! We're working on the pictures to send

| Lori H: Zuni is
a 5 1/2 month old Red Fronted Macaw. He lights up our home. Zuni is expressive, funny and gregarious. He lives with myself Lori Hubbard Zywiciel (Lori H.), husband Phil,
12 yr old son Kevin, part time w/16 1/2 yr old son Jordan and spends weekends with 17 year old Dana. Zuni also lives with 3 Australian Shepherds (my pride and joy) one
rescue Cattle dog mix and one rescue Terrier mix. He also has to put up with CJ our Maxi Pionus who rules the roost here. We all live at 7,000 feet in the Southern
California mountains. |
Zuni is a hearty eater, eating lots of veggies, tofu, crazy corn, fruit, seeds (fresh and dried),
pasta, brown rice, nuts, different grain cereal mixes and a few Harrisons pellets thrown in. He also samples whatever we are having for dinner. Zuni is mostly green now
but on one of the pictures you can see some red feathers peaking out on his head. By one year the front half of his head will be bright red. By two years old the outer
top of his wings will be the same color orange as his under wings. About a third of the way down from the top. His tummy is getting more red and orange feathers also. He
weighs 475 grams now and is about 22 inches long. When full grown he will weigh over 500 grams and be 24 inches long. We are adding on to his play area. At this time he
has natural Polar branches and pinecones to chew and hang on. Now that he is more sure of himself a tall PVC pipe will be added over the top. From this will hang a boing,
an acrylic hoop and knotted rope swing. He will always have access to branches from my trees and pinecones to chew. Zuni is beginning to talk. He says, hi, hello, good
night, come ere, Sierra and up. He is working on more. Always putting his two cents in these days. He is very affectionate and needs many cuddles daily. Zuni rolls on his
back to be scratched or to play. He is gentle and sweet with everyone although he prefers me. He is perfect for our family |
